Yo Yo Honey Singh Back in Trouble: Lucknow Court Issues Warrant 

The rapper is in hot soup, again!

A non-bailable warrant has been issued against rapper/singer Yo Yo Honey Singh by a Lucknow local court in a seven-year-old case lodged by IPS officer Amitabh Thakur. This is the second time the musician has landed in hot water recently due to his controversial lyrics.

An FIR was lodged against Yo Yo Honey Singh on 31 December, 2012, at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow. The officer claimed that the lyrics of the song, "Main hoon balaatkari", sung by Honey Singh, were derogatory and condemnable. The complainant added that the song in question was widely available on the internet.

After investigation, the Lucknow Police registered a case against the Yo Yo Honey Singh on 27 June 27 2013, under Sections 292, 293 and 294 of the IPC. The court had ordered the rapper to appear before it on 23 December, 2013 but Honey Singh did not follow the court’s order. The court has now asked the singer to appear before it on 11 September, 2019.

A few weeks back, Yo Yo Honey Singh was in the news as Punjab Women's State Commission has sent him a notice for his latest music video 'Makhna', in which he has allegedly again used vulgar lyrics. Manisha Gulati, chairperson of the commission took a suo moto action and wrote to the Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Punjab DGP, and IG, Crime, Punjab. She has asked them to take action on the matter especially for using lyrics like ‘Mein hoon womaniser’ and ‘Silicon wali ladkiyon ko mein pakadta nahi’.

Yo Yo Honey Singh is a popular musician, rapper and singer in Punjabi and Hindi. He is know for his Bollywood hits like “Sunny Sunny” (Yaariyan) and “Dil Chori” (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.)
