Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, who will be sharing screen space for the first time in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film, a sequel to Love Aaj Kal. After Sara confessed on Koffee With Karan that she had a crush on Kartik, speculations were rife that they had started dating after meeting on the sets of Ali’s film.

According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the couple has called it quits after months of being together. Reportedly, the reason for splitting up is professional and not personal.

A source close to the couple told the publication that despite the couple trying to spend time with each other they are unable to because of their professional commitments. Kartik has just wrapped up Pati, Patni Aur Woh remake and started shooting for the sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa. He also has Dostana 2 in his kitty. Sara Ali Khan is busy shooting for Coolie No. 1 remake with Varun Dhawan.

Some time back, Sara celebrated her birthday in Bangkok, and Kartik flew down from Mumbai to give her a sweet surprise.

Kartik took to Instagram to post an adorable picture with Sara on her birthday and captioned it, “Happy Birthday Princess @saraalikhan95 .And Eid Mubarak (this time without the mask ).”

After the duo had wrapped shooting for Imtiaz’s film, Sara took to Instagram to share an emotional message about the journey. She thanked Imtiaz Ali for making her dream come true and her co-star Kartik Aaryan for consistently looking out for her.
