K-pop star Goo Hara was found dead in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday. The 28-year-old artist’s body was at her home in Seoul by an acquaintance who then reported it to the authorities. The cause of death remains unknown as of now.
Goo was a former member of the K-Pop group Kara. Kara was one of the first K-pop groups that became famous internationally. Goo had joined Kara in 2008. Apart from that, Goo has also topped charts with her solo music. She released her first solo EP in 2015. She also appeared on television.
In May, Goo had been hospitalised following an alleged suicide attempt.
She had been found unconscious in her home. Following this incident, she said that she had been "in agony over overlapping issues" and promised to recover.
A week ago, she made a few comeback performances and bounced back in the public eye. In November, she also released new music.
In 2018, Goo had taken her former boyfriend to court for filming her without her permission and then using the footage to blackmail her. The former boyfriend was later found guilty by the court. Following which he denied all allegations and filed an appeal.
In October, another K-pop star Sulli was found dead at her residence near Seoul, South Korea. She was discovered by her manager who found her dead at her residence. Sulli’s real name was Choi Jin-ri.
