In a moment from Wednesday night’s IIFA Awards that’s going viral, Gully Boy star Ranveer Singh is seen calling Dream Girl star Ayushmann Khurrana “the man of the moment.”
The IIFA Awards 2019, which is the 20th edition of the ceremony, was held in Mumbai on 18 September. Ayushmann hosted the evening along with his brother Aparshakti Khurana. Ranveer won the much-coveted trophy for Best Actor.
When he came up on stage, Ranveer took the opportunity to let his appreciation for Ayushmann be known. Ranveer stated that it was honour to be nominated in the same category as Ayushmann and called him a “wonderful artist” and “the gift that keeps on giving.”
Singer Harshedeep Kaur shared the clip on Twitter, writing, “This moment at @IIFA This is what True Artists are made of!”
Take a look.
“It’s an absolute honour to be nominated alongside this wonderful artist, who just keeps surprising. You’re like the gift that keeps on giving Hindi cinema. The man of the moment for me, Ayushmann Khurrana.”Ranveer Singh
Ayushmann is visibly moved by Ranveer’s words and Aparshakti looks proud of his brother. Ranveer then gives Ayushmann a warm hug.
The actor who was nominated for his turn in Sriram Raghavan’s AndhaDhun also shared the clip, saying, “Thanks for capturing this moment Whatta guy! @RanveerOfficial He deserves to be a megastar!”
Well, here’s a case of refreshing humility that goes against everything we hear about stars.
