As the Filmfare awards 2019 ended on Saturday evening, many fans of Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone were disappointed that Padmaavat did not get the recognition it deserves. Although the film did win some awards, including Best Music Album, Critics Award for Best Actor (Male), Best Playback Singer, and Best Choreography, it was unable to bag the most prestigious awards. And that really disheartened the community.

In fact, one of the fan pages also shared a very heartfelt message about what happened at the Filmfare awards 2019.

The fan page spoke about how Padmaavat was a very important film in Deepika’s life and she had to go through many hardships for it. “y’all will never understand the tears, the heartbreaking, her blood & sweat & her dedication to this role”, the fan page wrote as part of the caption. The page also declared that they would not give Filmfare awards any coverage.

However, what took the internet by surprise is Deepika’s acknowledgment of the post. She apologised to all her fans and promised to work harder in the future. “To all my Fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before”, she commented.

She also ended the comment with an encouraging “#upwards&onwards”. And indeed it is upwards and onwards for the Padmaavat actor who recently revealed her look in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming Chhapaak. She plays the role of an acid attack survivor in the film.
