Choreographer and filmmaker Remo D'Souza's brother-in-law was found dead at his house in Mumbai's Millat Nagar on Thursday, a police officer was quoted by PTI as saying.
The officer added that Jason Watkins, who was found dead by his father after he returned home, allegedly died by suicide.
The PTI report also quoted the officer as stating that the 42-year-old was facing some health issues which might have led him to take the step. However, no suicide note was found.
The officer told the publication that initial probe suggests Watkins was alone at home at the time of the incident. When he was found, the cops were alerted and he was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead before admission, the officer said.
The Oshiwara Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the case.
Speaking to ETimes Remo's wife Lizelle said, "My father forced the door open and found that he had taken his life. Daddy had been undergoing dialysis for some time. Jason and my father stayed together. I think Jason couldn't come to terms with our mom's demise, which happened in 2018. He was very close to her".
Remo took to Instagram to mourn Watkins' demise. "You broke our hearts brother , hope you finally found Peace. REST IN PEACE", he wrote.
