After Twitter users hailed Zomato for standing up against religious discrimination by a user, Bollywood celebrities have also come out in support of the food delivery app.

“Food has no religion,” responded Zomato, on Wednesday, 31 July, to the controversial post from a Twitter user who apparently cancelled his order after the food aggregator assigned a Muslim delivery person.

Actors Swara Bhasker and Richa Chadha among others, applauded the response by Zomato. “Kudos 2 u Mr. Goyal ! @deepigoyal THANK YOU for standing up for the real idea of & true Indian values! You are a true citizen & patriot. More power to u!! @ZomatoIN @Zomato I hope larger corporations who in the past haven’t had the courage 2 stand up to trolls learn,” wrote Swara on Twitter.

Even Gauahar Khan showed her support to the app, by taking to the social media platform.

On the night of 30 July, in a series of tweets, a user on Twitter by the name of Amit Shukal tweeted about cancelling his order placed on Zomato as the designated rider was a "non-Hindu". In a series of tweets, he also shared screenshots of his conversation with Zomato's customer care, saying he would take up the issue with his lawyers.
