Bollywood celebs have urged everyone to respect the Supreme Court verdict in the politically sensitive case of the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masji land dispute in Ayodhya, which was announced on Saturday, 9 November.
Javed Akhtar tweeted: “It would be really nice if those who get the 5 acres as compensation decide to make a big charitable hospital on that land sponsored and supported by the people all the communities.”
Taapsee Pannu tweeted: “Ho gaya. Bas. Ab? (It’s done. Now what?)” In another tweet, she welcomed the fact that the dispute had been resolved and said that we must move on to issues to “help our nation become the best place to live in”.
Huma Qureshi expressed a similar sentiment.
Kangana Ranaut’s team issued a statement on her behalf saying that the Supreme Court’s judgement “shows how all of us can coexist peacefully”.

Ahead of the verdict, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker and Anupam Kher took to Twitter to advocate for peace.
Anupam Kher tweeted lines from ‘Ishwar Allah Tere Naam’ that read: “Allah tere naam, Ishwar tere naam, sab ko sanmati de bhagwaan.”
Swara Bhasker tweeted lines from the bhajan Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, which is popularly associated with Mahatma Gandhi.
Farhan Akhtar called for everyone to respect the verdict tweeting, “Humble request to all concerned, please respect the Supreme Court verdict on #AyodhyaCase today. Accept it with grace if it goes for you or against you. Our country needs to move on from this as one people. Jai Hind.”
