Veteran actor Hema Malini recently revealed that Raj Kapoor had offered her Rupa's iconic character in Satyam Shivam Sundaram before Zeenat Aman was finalised for the film.
However, the actor revealed that she had refused to do the role.
In the teaser for an interview with Lehren, the actor shared that Kapoor knew she was unlikely to do the project, yet he wanted her in the film. "He (Raj Kapoor) said this is such a film; you will not do it, but I am keen that you do it," Malini added.
The actor further shared that her mother, who was also present at the meeting with Kapoor, supported her refusal.
In the same clip, the actor also opened up about her husband, Dharmendra, and his role in parenting their daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol. Malini further says in the video, "I have my two children, they are brought up very well, and he (Dharmendra) is always there. That is the best part. Actually, he was worried about their weddings. ‘Shaadi hona chaiye bachchon ka jaldi (They should get married soon).' I said, ‘Hoga (It'll happen).' When the time is right, the right person will come around. With the blessings of God and Guru Ma, everything happened."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Malini was last seen in Ramesh Sippy's Shimla Mirchi, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.
