Ayushmann Khurrana was recently spotted performing aarti by the Ganga in Varanasi ahead of the release of his film Bala. The actor said that this was a wish he had been longing to fulfil since college and called his experience “magical and soulful”.
“It was a surreal moment for me to do my first Ganga Aarti at Varanasi. I had always wanted to experience this moment and had thought about it since my college. I’m delighted that every single thing worked out for me to perform the Ganga Aarti. I won’t ever forget this. It was an extremely peaceful, magical and soulful feeling for me,” he said.
Ayushmann said that he considered himself “deeply spiritual”. He has visited other places of spiritual and religious significance before the release of his other films as well. The actor sought blessings at Lalbaug in Mumbai before Dream Girl and made a trip to Vaishno Devi before his 2018 film Badhaai Ho hit theatres.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bala stars Ayushmann as a young man desperate to find a solution to premature balding. The film has been produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and hits theatres on 8 November.
