Arunoday Singh and his wife of two years, Lee Elton, have separated. The Aisha actor shared the news in a post on social media saying that despite counselling and a trial separation, the couple couldn’t over come their differences.
“My marriage seems to be over. Turns out we were very good at love, but couldn’t survive reality. Despite our best efforts, professional counselling, and a current trial separation, nothing seems to have helped bridge the fundamental differences that have emerged between us. It seems wiser to let go. I think we both deserve better. We shall try to resolve this with compassion and dignity,” he wrote.
Arunoday and Lee tied the knot in 2016. The couple reportedly met at a yoga retreat in Goa and shuttled between Mumbai and Goa, where Lee runs a restaurant. They celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary last December.
Arunoday Singh is the son of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Ajay Singh. He made his debut in 2009 with Sikander, directed by Piyush Jha, followed by Anil Kapoor production Aisha. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 18th Screen Awards for his performance opposite Irrfan Khan and Aditi Rao Hydari in Sudhir Mishra’s Yeh Saali Zindagi, and has also appeared in films such as Jism 2, Mohenjo Daro, Love Per Square Foot and Blackmail.
