In an ironic twist, actor Alok Nath, who has been in the news for allegations of rape levelled against him by writer-producer Vinta Nanda, is slated to play a role in a movie dealing with sexual harassment called #Main Bhi.

The actor, will reportedly be playing judge in the Nasir Khan directed film, at the end of which he gives a speech about how molestation is wrong, Mumbai Mirror reported.

News of Nath acting in a film about sexual harassment has created a stir, considering that just last October, Vinta Nanda had publicly alleged that he had raped her twice, nearly twenty years ago when they were working on a TV show called Tara.

Nath confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that he would be acting in #Main Bhi, and clarified that it had been shot “a while ago”. Lashing out at the newspaper, he also asked:

“Is there a problem? You sound sad that I’m doing a film. It’s a puny role for poor producers, let it release.”

Along with Nath, the film will also feature actor Khalid Siddiqui in a lead role, Sonali Raut as female lead, along with Shawar Ali, Imran Khan and veteran actors Mukesh Khanna and Shahbaz Khan, the report added.

Describing the Nasir Khan directorial, which was shot in Bhopal, to Mumbai Mirror, Khalid said that the film deals with child molestation, with a particular focus on the molestation of small boys. He also hoped that the film would "start a debate on the subject”.

The Mumbai Police had filed a case against Nath based on Nanda’s complaint, following which he was expelled by Cine and TV Artistes Association (CIN-TAA), after he failed to show up for a meeting called by the film-body, regarding the allegations.

Following the allegations Nanda levelled against Nath, other actresses such as Sandhya Mridul, Deepika Amin and Himani Shivpuri also came out with their own similar and traumatic experiences with Nath, where they all accused him of sexual assault. However, Nath had denied all these charges and his wife, Ashu, has even moved court against Nanda.
