Ali Fazal’s partner Richa Chaddha also shared a note of love in honour of his birthday. “It’s nothing short of a miracle, that in this ridiculous, stupid world, I found you... you! A best friend, fan, peer, lover, critic, partner-in-crime rolled into one! I respect you as a man, a human and an artist. You are joy. You are perfection! Cheers to a love spread across the years, across continents... Happy Birthday dear Ali!” she wrote.

After rubbing shoulders with Dame Judi Dench in period drama Victoria and Abdul, Ali Fazal will star in Death on the Nile, a big screen adaptation of Agatha Christie’s eponymous novel. The film is being directed by Kenneth Branagh and also stars Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer and Letitia Wright. He will also be seen opposite Shriya Pilgaonkar in Netflix film House Arrest. The Shashanka Ghosh and Samit Basu directorial releases on 15 November.
