A special screening of the film Chalo Jeete Hain directed by Mangesh Hadawale was held in Mumbai recently. The 32-minute short film is inspired by the early life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is presented by Mahaveer Jain and Aanand L Rai. Chalo Jeete Hain was first screened at the Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier for the President of India.

The screening in Mumbai saw BJP president Amit Shah in attendance with Mukesh Ambani, Sachin Tendulkar, Kangana Ranaut and Akshay Kumar among others.

Almost a week after the screening Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

Recently saw an inspiring short-film titled #ChaloJeeteHain. Loved its underlying philosophy ‘Woh hi jeete hai jo doosron ke liye jeete hai.’ So simple yet so powerful.

With less than a year for the next Lok Sabha elections, the movie streaming on Hotstar, which depicts Modi’s childhood has drawn much attention. Director Mangesh Hadawale said the movie revolves around a boy ‘Naru’, who is inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s words: “Wahi jeete hain, jo doosro ke liye jeete hain. (Only those live who live for others).” On his website, Hadawale is quoted as saying that he had found a cinematic appeal in the “incidents from Naru’s childhood”. He, however, doesn’t mention the PM directly.

Akshay Kumar is riding the biopic wave with films like PadMan and the upcoming Gold. His patriotic fervour is evident in his choice of films. The new Bharat Kumar seems to be batting for PM Modi.
