Akshay Kumar’s tweet on Monday morning about “getting into an unknown and uncharted territory” got his fans and the media speculating about the actor making a debut in politics for the General Elections of 2019.
The action star later put all those rumours to rest by tweeting a clarification that he will not be contesting in the ongoing elections.
So, what was Akshay Kumar’s original tweet about in which he states that he was excited and nervous about doing something he has never done before? According to the latest buzz in the media, the actor has recorded an interview with PM Narendra Modi. The interview, which is yet to be aired, is the first full-length interview given by Modi to a celebrity. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Akhay’s interview with Modi does not touch upon politics at all.
Akshay is known to share a warm relationship with PM Modi. While Modi was the CM of Gujarat, Akshay and Paresh Rawal had met him in 2013 to discuss the development of a Sports University in the state.
Since then Akshay has been a part of several Bollywood delegations that has met with the PM. The actor was also part of the film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which campaigned for PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
While Akshay Kumar is yet to confirm this latest speculation of having put on a journalist’s hat with the Prime Minister, if true, it sure will be one helluva eyeball grabber.
