Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? Is texting enough to keep a long distance relationship going? In the latest webisode of Ishq FM’s Calling Karan, Karan Johar takes up from where he left off in the previous one, acknowledging the fact that being apart can really be trying at times.
He answers another burning query on sidestepping temptations, when in a long distance relationship.
A caller sounds dismal about the future of his relationship when his girlfriend finds out about his active Tinder account. It turns out that she stays in Delhi and he, in Pune.
Johar probes further to understand why the caller’s voice is laced with guilt only to find out that though the caller is not acting on his adventurous impulses in his girlfriend’s absence, he is seeking excitement from other virtual sources by checking out women on digital platforms.
“Long distance relationships are invariably difficult. They don’t work out. I hate to break the bad news to you.”Karan Johar
Karan Johar believes that a long distance relationship can make one feel lonely and it’s only prudent to be honest about it. He advises the caller to either move city or move focus since a relationship like this one can make one of the partners or both susceptible to other enticements due to the physical absence.
So, a bitter pill was served up on this webisode but when life demands tough love, call KJo since he doesn’t mince words - “Unfortunately the truth is bitter but sometimes so is chocolate.”
