The famous luxury brand has just made an internet disaster. In one of their recent posts on Twitter this Sunday, Burberry shared a picture of Riz Ahmed, a British actor and rapper captioning him as Dev Patel, who won the Best Supporting Actor trophy for Lion at the BAFTAs.
Now we all know one can never do away with such errors on social media. But hello! You are a global luxury brand who tailors suits for Hollywood stars! Even though they rectified their embarrassing tweet by deleting it almost immediately, no one could stop what followed. Check out how Twitterati and other social mediums took on to this mishap.
Custom-made? You don’t even remember the names! People also went further and discussed how Burberry had made a racially discriminating blunder.
This guy dreamed too big and even posted his own picture with a message for Burberry!
And one of them even wanted the person behind the social media post sacked, though that we feel is decidedly an over-reaction.
Errrr... I am still wondering how they mistook these two.
