Zoya Akhtar’s next directorial feature Gully Boy which stars Ranveer Singh as a rapper from the streets along with Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin has been selected for the 2019 Berlinale Film Festival. The film will have its world premiere in the Berlinale Special Gala section in February.

Gully Boy is reportedly inspired by the life of Mumbai-based rapper Divine. Alia is playing the character of a Muslim girl and Ranveer plays a boy from the Mumbai slums who aspires to become a musician.
