Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s latest action thriller War has had a roaring run at the box office since it hit theatres on 2 October. As of week two, the Hindi version of the film has earned Rs 268.30 crore. Taking into account the Tamil and Telugu versions as well, the total box office collections of the film are Rs 280.60 crore. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, War has thus surpassed the lifetime business of Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh (Rs 276.34 crore) to become the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2019. It has also crossed the lifetime business of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri.

Uri, Bharat and Mission Mangal are among the other top grossers in 2019.

War has also become the 10th highest grossing Bollywood film of all time. Baahubali 2 remains at the number one spot, followed by Dangal, Sanju, PK and Tiger Zinda Hai.

According to Adarsh, the film is likely to do well until Diwali after which its collections might be disrupted by Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Riteish Deshmukh-starrer Housefull 4.

War raked in Rs 50 crore on its opening weekend alone. It hit Rs 100 crore by day 3 and crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in a week. The film collected Rs 245.95 crore at the box office on day 10, making it Hrithik’s highest earning film ever. His biggest hit previously was his superhero sequel Krrish 3 with a lifetime collection of Rs 244.95 crore.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, War is the story of an Indian soldier, Khalid (Tiger), who is assigned to eliminate a senior agent and his mentor Kabir (Hrithik) as he has gone rogue. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor.
