While Shah Rukh Khan’s next project have been flying around ever since the release of his last film Zero in 2018. According to The Indian Express, the actor has been signed on for Malayalam director Aashiq Abu’s yet untitled film, which will be penned by Kumbalangi Nights writer Syam Pushkaran.
Abu recently visited SRK at Mannat, his home in Mumbai. He shared a few photos of the two posing with the actor, which have further fuelled speculations.
Aashiq Abu made his directorial debut with Daddy Cool, and is known for films such as 22 Female Kottayam and Virus.
An earlier report by Mumbai Mirror suggested that SRK had finalised a big budget action-comedy by directorial duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. A source close to the development told the publication that the directors had narrated the script to Shah Rukh some time ago. “The action film will be replete with Raj and DK’s quirky humour. The yet-to-be-titled film will go on floors next year and this is a space that SRK hasn’t explored yet.”
SRK has also been rumoured to have been approached by Tamil film director Atlee, Rajkumar Hirani and Ali Abbas Zafar.
Meanwhile, the actor will be seen in a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmastra. His also announced in November that he would be producing Bob Biswas, a spin-off about the eponymous contract killer from Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani. The film will be helmed by Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter Divya Annapurna Ghosh, and stars Abhishek Bachchan.
