Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar announced that he had bought the rights to remake Dear Comrade. Dear Comrade stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Now, it has been reported that Vijay Deverakonda rejected Karan Johar’s offer to star in the Hindi remake of it.

According to the report, the Dear Comrade actor does not want to play the same role twice. Moreover, Mumbai Mirror reported that Karan Johar bought the film rights for 6 crore and then offered 40 crore to Vijay Deverakonda as a part of the offer. Despite the amount, Vijay declined the offer.

Earlier Karan Johar had taken to Twitter to announce that Dharma will remake the film.

He tweeted, “Stunning and powerful love story! With top notch performances and exceptional music by Justin Prabhakaran. On point debut direction by Bharat Kamma. Vijay Deverakonda is BRILLIANT as is Rashmika Mandanna. ANNOUNCING that Dharma Movies to REMAKE this beautiful film.”

Dear Comrade is directed by Bharat Kamma. It released on 26 July.

On 18 July, the makers of Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade dropped a song from the movie’s album and it has a huge surprise for fans. The song, Comrade Anthem, features Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam actor Dulquer Salman along with Vijay Deverakonda.

The teaser for the anthem was released on 17 July. Vijay had shared it on twitter and wrote, “Tomorrow - July 18 - 11:11 am. Three Comrades come together to give you The Comrade Anthem - Live Like a Comrade. Every word of this song I believe in and want you all to hear.”
