The trailer of Veere Di Wedding is finally here and it promises to be a lot of fun. Starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania - the trailer takes us through the ladies’ loves lives.
The trailer shows four girlfriends going through rather bumpy times in their relationships - either getting married or pushed into marriage, a boring marriage or an impending divorce. It’s a bunch of hot, dirty-talking girls trying to “figure out life”.
Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania look gorgeous and seem to slip into their roles effortlessly.
Now, Veere Di Wedding is being touted as a film that’s not a chick flick, by which the makers seem to be saying that Veere is women-centric, and not a boy-meets-girl kind of a love story. It’s just that bit that’s niggling really. Because it looks just that. A chick flick with the women’s lives revolving around the men really. We have absolutely no problem if it is one, mind you. It’s just that the proclamation has got us foxed.
Kareena Kapoor will be seen in Veere Di Wedding for the first time post her pregnancy.
Speaking about the film, Kareena had earlier told PTI,
“It’s a different kind of movie. It’s a story of four friends. It’s not the typical boy-meets-girl romance which I think I’ve done so much of. So I thought this should be different. It’s a small film, made by women. The producers are women - Rhea (Kapoor) and Ekta (Kapoor). I think it’s a special film and people will appreciate it.”Kareena Kapoor
The latest poster of the film shows the girls enjoying a pajama party, looking gorgeous, of course. The Veere girls - Sonam, Kareena and Swara - are caught in the midst of a sleepover with everyone evidently having a ball.
Veere Di Wedding also stars Permanent Roommates actor, Sumeet Vyas.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, Veere Di Wedding team has also brought Farah Khan Kunder on board to choreograph the promotional song with the four leading ladies.
Veere Di Wedding is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and releases on 1 June.
