In a new interview, Kalank-star Alia Bhatt explained that there is a reason behind the “unusual casting” of her and Salman Khan in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film, titled Inshallah.
Almost a month since the announcement that she will star opposite Salman in the Padmaavat filmmaker highly anticipated next project, Alia has clarified that “there is a plan in place.” Fans and the industry were delighted at the news of Salman working with his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam director after 20 years. But the casting of Alia in the female lead came as a big surprise, considering the two have never worked together and Salman is 27 years her senior.
Talking to Mid-Day, this is what Alia had to say.
“Bhansali is a visionary. People are too quick to judge. There is a plan in place and a reason behind the [unusual] casting. I am thrilled to be working with Salman. Even I never thought this combination [working with Khan and Bhansali] is possible.Alia Bhatt
“It will be an intriguing journey and Salman is genuinely warm and kind. They are a magical duo together and I am blessed to be in it,” she added.
Inshallah is aiming for 2020 release date. Alia will next be seen in the Karan Johar-produced Kalank alongside Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur.
