Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey starrer Student of the Year 2, which released on 10 May, has shown a little growth at the box office on day 2 after performing decently on the opening day.

The film had made Rs 12.06 crore on its first day (10 May), making it the second highest opening for a Tiger Shroff film, after Baaghi 2.

SOTY 2 showed slight growth on day 2, by making Rs 14.08 crore in domestic collections, but did not get the jump that is expected from a big release like this one.

“#StudentOfTheYear2 witnesses growth on Day 2, but lacks the appreciation for a solid jump... Mumbai, Delhi, NCR plexes performing better... #IPL2019Final today [Sun] will hit biz, evening onwards... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr. Total: ₹ 26.08 cr. India biz. #SOTY2.”
Taran Adarsh, Trade analyst

With the film receiving mostly negative reviews and a not-so-great word of mouth, the chances of the film getting a big jump at the box office on Sunday seem bleak at this point.

Student of the Year 2 is a sequel to the 2012 film Student of the Year, which launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.

The film is a campus caper directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
