The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who told Mumbai Mirror that Tiger will start preparing for his role from November and shooting will commence in the new year. The release date has been set for 2 October 2020.

Rambo is primarily known for its action but I can promise you that in my film, the story will resonate too with our audience. It’s a story that needs to be told, given the present political dynamics in the country,” he said.

The Rambo film franchise is based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel First Blood about John Rambo, a Vietnam War veteran and former US Army Special Forces Soldier. The series includes four films - First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985). Rambo III (1988) and Rambo (2008) - with Rambo V: Last Blood scheduled to release in September this year.
