After his last film, Drive, was released directly on Netflix earlier this month, there had been reports suggesting that the actor’s next film Dil Bechara, directed by casting director Mukesh Chhabra, will also be an OTT release.
Putting an end to those rumours, Dil Bechara producers Fox Star Studios India announced the release date of the film, and specifically mentioned that it would release “in cinemas only.”
The makers released the first look and announced that the film would hit the theatres on 8 May, 2020.
“#DilBechara- An extraordinary love story of two ordinary people, directed by @castingchhabra. Releasing on 8th May, 2020, only in cinemas,” said Foxstar Hindi in an Instagram post.
Dil Bechara has been in production for one and a half year, giving rise to speculations that it might meet with the same fate as Sushant’s last release, Drive.
Earlier titled Kizzie Aur Manny, initially the film was scheduled to release on 29 November this year, but it was later pushed to 2020.
Actor Sanjana Sanghi will make her Bollywood debut with this love story, an Indian remake of the 2014 film, The Fault In Our Stars. The film revolves around two terminally-ill people who fall in love with each other. The 2014 Hollywood film was an adaptation of a John Green’s novel by the same name, published in 2012.
The music of Dil Bechara has been composed by AR Rahman.
