The trailer of Super 30, in which Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Anand Kumar who started an IIT program for the economically backward students, dropped earlier today.
And while the trailer was interesting and got a good response, Hrithik’s Bihari accent and make-up is drawing flak on social media. Twitter isn’t impressed with Hrithik’s inconsistent dialogue delivery and felt that he went overboard with the accent.
The actor is also being criticised for going brownface with his make-up.
A Twitter user asked a very valid question: Can a brown person be accused of brownface?
One user went on to say that Hrithik had “molested” the Bhojpuri accent!
Hrithik’s dialogue delivery got compared to Arjun Kapoor’s failed attempt at Bihari accent in Half Girlfriend.
Another user called the accent a cross between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Hrithik’s Koi Mil Gaya character Rohit.
One user criticised both, Hrithik’s “brown face” and accent.
And there was a lot more.
