According to a report in a leading newspaper, Shah Rukh Khan and director Aditya Chopra are set to reunite in a new film to mark the 50th anniversary of Yash Raj Films next year. Aditya and Shah Rukh have worked together on three films, the last of which Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi came out all the way back in 2008. Aditya last directorial effort was the 2016 Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer Befikre.
Yash Raj Films, the legendary banner started by Aditya late father Yash Chopra, was founded in 1970 and will complete 50 years in 2020. The studio clearly wants to reserve a special announcement for the occasion, and what better than YRF’s golden boys Aditya and SRK teaming up again. According to Mid-Day, the project is said to be a love story.
Shah Rukh’s last release was Aanand L Rai’s Zero, which was a disaster at the box office. Shah Rukh is reportedly taking a break since then and taking his time to say yes to a new project. He However, he has been rumoured to be a part of multiple films, including Rajkumar Hirani’s next, Farah Khan’s remake of Satte Pe Satta and a Sajid Nadiadwala produced comedy.
While we wait for official announcement from King Khan, it would be great to imagine what he would cook up with old pal Aditya. Shah Rukh is currently producing the Netflix series Bard of Blood and Betaal. He also lent his voice to the Hindi version of Disney’s The Lion King along with son Aryan.
