Race 3 actor Saqib Saleem and Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu are the latest to join the cast of Ranveer Singh starrer 83. The film, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on India’s historic win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
Saqib will essay the role of all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath who was vice captain of the Indian cricket team during the ’83 World Cup and awarded the title Man of the Match at semi-finals and finals. Harrdy will play cricketer Madan Lal, one of the highest wicket takers during the final match.
Saqib was a state level cricketer, having played for Jammu and Delhi before turning to modelling and acting. Harrdy Sandhu was part of the under-19 team for Punjab alongside cricketers such as Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma.
83 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khatter and Chirag Patil. It releases on 10 April 2020.
