There has been a new development in the release of the upcoming Madhur Bhandarkar film, Indu Sarkar. According to a report in Hindustan Times, a lady claiming to be the ‘biological daughter’ of Sanjay Gandhi has sent a legal notice to the makers of the film and to the Central Board of Film Certification asking them not release Indu Sarkar.

In a 4-page legal notice, the lady, Priya Singh Paul, a resident of Gurugram says that she has learnt from well wishers that “Shri Sanjay Gandhi and Smt Indira Gandhi are shown in roles without accurate or insufficient historical data and apprehends that they may be shown in poor light and therefore its release should be stopped...” till she is shown the film.

The report also quotes CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani saying that he had no idea that Sanjay Gandhi “had another child besides Varun Gandhi” and that he would have to wait for the Gandhi family to acknowledge her claim to act on it.
