After playing the titular character at various stages of his life in Bharat, Salman Khan is gearing up for another age-defying performance in Dabangg 3. While the actor will reprise his role as Chulbul Pandey in the third instalment of the popular franchise, Mumbai Mirror reports that the film will trace his character’s journey from goon to cop and feature a flashback to his days as a 20-year-old.
Salman has been putting in extra effort at the gym in preparation for these flashback scenes. According the a source quoted by the publication, Bhai is working hard to achieve the leaner figure that Chulbul Pandey’s younger avatar demands. Posts from his training sessions have been going viral, including a clip of Salman performing leg presses with his bodyguards as weights.
It looks like there’s plenty of action in store for Dabangg 3. In April, actor Kichcha Sudeepa revealed that the climax of the film will feature a bare-chested fight between him and Salman.
Earlier, Dabangg 3 ran into trouble after photographs of a Shivling covered with wooden planks during the shooting of the film surfaced on social media. The images received flak for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Salman later clarified that the Shivlinga was covered with wooden planks to protect the idol and maintain its sanctity. He confirmed that it was removed after the shoot.
Dabangg 3 is being directed by Prabhudeva and also stars Sonakshi Sinha. The film is expected to release on 20 December.
