From brother-in-law Aayush Sharma to Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty, Salman Khan is known for playing godfather to young talent, or perhaps more accurately, his friends’ kids.

Now, Salman appears to have turned his attention to none other than Tiger, the son of his bodyguard Shera. In an interview with Times of India Bhai said,

“Shera’s son Tiger is being groomed right now and he’s already being considered by so many producers and directors. Shera feels I will be the best judge of a script for his son, so I am now sifting through scripts. I am yet to find something worthy.”

According to Salman, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to merit being launched by him. Offering his now brother-in-law Aayush Sharma as an example, he narrated how Aayush assisted him on Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tubelight and Sultan, travelled extensively with him, worked out and took acting and dance classes before he was deemed ready to act in his debut film.

“The thing is, these are the boys I see and meet. They work really hard to get a nod from me. They work on presenting themselves well and everything that goes with it, because it matters. And mind you, I have many friends, but that doesn’t mean I am launching everyone’s kids,” he said.

The most recent debutants to board Salman’s cushy launchpad into Bollywood are Zaheer Iqbal, son of Bhai’s builder buddy Iqbal Ratnasi, and Pranutan Bahl, granddaughter of yesteryear actor Nutan, both of whom will be seen in Notebook.

The film has been directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Salman Khan Films. It hits theatres on 29 March.
