‘Bharat’ BO: Salman’s Eid Release Crosses Rs 200 Crore

Salman Khan’s Eid release Bharat has crossed Rs 200 crores at the box office in its second week. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has estimated the collection to be Rs 201.86 crores at the box office.

The Ali Abbas directorial, which also stars Katrina Kaif, collected Rs 42.30 crore on day 1, surpassing the opening day earnings of earlier films such as Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 34.10 crore), Sultan(Rs 36.54 crore) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 40.35 crore). Bharat is Salman’s biggest Eid opener as well as his highest opener ever.

Bharat hit another milestone on day 4 when it raked in Rs 122.20 at the box office, making it Salman’s 14th film to have earned over Rs 100 crores. With this, the actor currently has the highest number of films in the Rs 100 crore club.

Bharat is a remake of award-winning Korean film Ode to My Father. The film spans about 50 years and traces the history of India through Salman Khan's character. The actor dons various avatars through the film, including that of a stuntman, miner and naval officer, and Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani play his love interests. The film also stars Tabu, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover.
