Salman Khan’s ruthless and unforgiving streak is not unknown to Bollywood. Word has it that B-towners are advised to not get on his bad side. Arijit had crooned ‘Jag Ghoomeya’ for Sultan but reportedly Salman Khan ensured that the song was dropped from the film owing to his long-lasting feud with Salman. His version was replaced with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s version. The feud allegedly goes back to the time when Arijit appeared in informal clothes and ‘chappals’ to collect the award presented to him by at an award show hosted by Salman Khan. A verbal exchange of snide remarks reportedly followed on the stage where Arijit said in jest, “Kya sir sula diya aapne?”

Arijit went on to publicly apologise on Facebook and request Salman to retain his song but to no avail. He even allegedly lost a song in Tiger Zinda Hai to Atif Aslam

History seems to have repeated itself. Allegedly in Welcome to New York, Atif Aslam’s voice was again replaced. Salman appears in a cameo in the Karan Johar-Diljit-Sonakshi Sinha starrer.

“Arijit has sung the rough scratch of the track which was to be used in the film. However, Salman was quite miffed and he told the makers, ‘Anyone in the fraternity could croon the track but Arijit.’”

BJP minister-singer Baabul Supriyo further coloured this controversy with an India-Pakistan hue.

“I am also not sure why Atif got to sing Dil Diya Gallan when Arijit could have done a much better job. The FM stations played the song galore, while news channels announced the name of our soldiers martyred by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. Both are great singers but it’s important to clarify that our problem is not with the artistes. We have an issue with their nationality. It’s not a political stand, but probably the families who have lost their sons, brothers, fathers would feel a lot better should the entire country show solidarity in any manner possible.Bollywood is an integral part of India...I clearly recall that such a promise was made when Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had met protests due to Fawad Khan.”
Baabul Supriyo

He went on to make a strong case for banning Pakistan artists and said “It’s pertinent to note that one cannot recall a single Pakistani artiste made famous by Bollywood, condemn acts of terrorism.”

Her parents, who belong to a lower income group, have stopped going to work to take care of their baby.
