When Ranbir Kapoor’s trainer Kunal Gir posted a picture on Instagram of the actor flexing his biceps, everyone thought that it was Ranbir’s effort to get a Sanjay Dutt-like physique for Sanju baba’s biopic.
However, Kunal has now clarified that he was getting Ranbir to muscle up for the superhero film Dragon co-starring Alia Bhatt. “...the transformation has been done for a look test for Ayan Mukherji's film Dragon,” said Gir to a website. The man has been training Ranbir since July and posting pictures of their workouts on his Instagram account.
Ranbir isn’t the only guy in Bollywood who is currently training under Kunal. Dragon’s producer and Ranbir’s good friend, Karan Johar has also started working out under Kunal.
But also it isn’t as if Kunal Gir has nothing to do with the Sanjay Dutt biopic. Apparently Rajkumar Hirani had asked the fitness consultant to help Ranbir bulk up by about 14 kilos for his film on Dutt. Kunal was also on the sets of the Dutt biopic while Ranbir shot for some sequences in which he is seen working out in the gym.
For Ranbir and Ali fans, Kunal’s post and clarification has shot down rumours of Dragon having been shelved.
