There is a lot of speculation going around online about Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra’s wedding to Ishitaa Kumar having been cancelled. Siddharth and Ishitaa were engaged with a roka ceremony in Delhi in February earlier this year.
The Quantico star was in India recently to attend her brother Siddharth’s wedding but the actor then returned to the US after reports emerged that the wedding had been postponed. However, now it seems Siddharth and Ishitaa have called off the wedding altogether. Ishitaa has reportedly removed all pictures of their roka ceremony from her social media pages and has posted a new picture of herself at a restaurant with the caption, “Cheers to new beginnings With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings”.
According to a report on a Bollywood website, Priyanka and Siddharth Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has said that, “They (Siddharth and Ishitaa have mutually called it off”.
What is also adding to the speculation of a break up between Siddharth and Ishitaa are comments from her parents to her Instagram post. While her mother Nidhi Kumar wrote, “Close old book and write,” her father assured her with, “We are with you; Feel the expanse of the universe and be the star you were born to be.”
Ishitaa’s friends had thrown a bridal shower for her in London in April, pictures of which were widely shared on social media.
However, a few days after her bridal shower, Ishitaa had to admitted to a hospital for a surgery, pictures of which she shared on her Instagram page with the message, “Recovering from surgery 💉🤯 Very painful but glad it's over 🙏”
While earlier it was reported that Siddharth and Ishitaa’s wedding could have been postponed due to the surgery, Ishitaa’s latest social media updates indicate a break up. As of now, Priyanka Chopra continues to carry photos from her brother’s roka ceremony on her social media pages and neither Siddharth Chopra nor Ishitaa have posted an official message about the status of their wedding yet.
