Popular Bollywood singer Palak Muchhal filed a complaint at the Amboli police station in Mumbai on Wednesday, alleging that she was receiving calls and messages from an unknown man. At first, the man claimed to be a fan of the singer and expressed his desire to meet her, which Palak declined. However, the caller continued to call and text the singer and when ignored, he began to threaten and and abuse her through his messages.
On the basis of Palak’s complaint the Mumbai police have arrested a 30-year-old man by the name of Rajesh Shukla, who claims he is a professor from Bihar. The man had allegedly told Palak Muchhal that he knew her address and threatened her that he would come to her house if she did not agree to meet him.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, an FIR under Section 354 (D) (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC was registered on Wednesday by the Amboli police and the accused was arrested soon after. The accused, Rajesh Shukla, was held at CSMT railway station, he claims to have come to Mumbai two weeks ago to meet the singer.
