Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy will also have Nagarjuna playing a pivotal role. The Telugu superstar will be playing the role of an archaeologist in the film which is touted to be a sci-fi/ fantasy trilogy.
His character will be traveling to an ancient temple near the Ganges on an expedition, where he’ll meet Shiva and Isha (Ranbir and Alia). He has finished shooting for his portions in the film.
Recently, Shah Rukh Khan also shot a cameo in Filmcity Studios for the film. “Shah Rukh Khan’s character is VFX-driven. Shooting against a green screen is something that most actors find difficult to adapt, but having worked in films like Ra One, Fan and Zero, SRK breezed through it. He joined the crew after his birthday and shot for three days. Some more days are left,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Shah Rukh plays a small but important role in the story driven by Ranbir’s character Shiva, who can emit fire from his hands.
Brahmastra was originally scheduled to release on Christmas this year but was postponed to summer 2020. According to Ayan Mukerji, the reason for the change in dates was because the VFX team required more time to work on the film. He announced the news on Instagram writing, “Brahmastra is a dream that began for me in 2011, and I've been actively pursuing it since Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani released in 2013. That dream is about creating a movie that offers our country something that's really new and amazing and next level in terms of story, characters and emotions, always, but also in terms of visual and visual effects.”
