The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Athiya Shetty starrer Motichoor Chaknachoor was released on Friday and it promises yet another small-town comedy. Directed by Debamitra Biswal, the film traces the lives of Pushpinder Tyagi and Annie, who are desperately looking for life-partners, however for different reasons.
While a 36-year-old Pushpinder would marry any girl to settle down, Annie is looking for an NRI who’ll fulfill her dream of moving abroad, as she says in the trailer, “America Paris aur london nahi gayi to kya? Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan toh milega.”
From what it looks like in the trailer, once the two marry and it is revealed that Pushpinder doesn’t work in Dubai anymore, a comedy of errors ensues.
While she has appeared in Hero and Mubarakaan in relatively glamorous roles, this is the first time Athiya will be playing a small town girl. The makers shared her look from the film and wrote, “Inki bag hai taiyaar, bas dulha mil jaaye toh fir yeh bhar lengi apne sapno ki udaan! #MotichoorChaknachoor trailer coming soon!”
In 2018, Nawazuddin Siddiqui took to Instagram to announce Motichoor Chaknachoor, a romantic wedding comedy for “all the lovable kids & their family”.
The film also stars Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Vivek Mishra, Karuna Pandey, Sanjeev Vats, Abhishek Rawat, Sapna Sand and Usha Nagar. Jointly produced by Woodpecker Movies, Viacom18 Studios and Rajesh Bhatia and Kiran Bhatia, Motichoor Chaknachoor is slated to hit theatres on 15 November.
