Nawazuddin Siddiqui is unstoppable, this year. The first look of his upcoming crime thriller Monsoon Shootout is here and he seems to have nailed it again as a menacing, dark character. We only hear Nawaz’s ominous voice asking “Mujhse Darta Hai Kya?” against the background (in monochrome) of his intimidatory face. Vijay Varma essays the character of a cop in the film, which also features Neeraj Kabi and Tannishtha Chatterjee.
Directed by Amit Kumar and produced by Guneet Monga, Anurag Kashyap, Arun Rangachari and Vivek Rangachari, Monsoon Shootout finally sees the light of day after a four-year wait. It has all the formidable noir feels.
Having bagged a nomination under the Golden Camera category at the Cannes Film Festival 2013, where it premiered, the film received positive reviews from international critics. Set to release on December 15, 2017, Monsoon Shootout, is essentially about the tough choice that a policeman is faced with - to shoot or not? Nawazuddin had shot for 'Monsoon Shootout' immediately after 'Gangs Of Wasseypur'.
