The controversy around the making of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon. After a war of words between Kangana Ranaut and director Krish, now actor Mishti Chakravarty insists that Krish wanted to finish the patchwork of the period film but was not allowed on the set. Mishti also said that Krish had completed the film, though Kangana had earlier stated that it was she who shot 70 percent of Manikarnika since Krish left mid-way.

Mishti plays the role of Kashibai in the historical and speaking to the media at an event recently, said “The whole film was completed and then he told Kangana and producers that he needed to shoot a film in South, which was NTR biopic. Krish said that after he is done with the shooting, he would come back for patchwork. He wanted to come back and complete the patchwork, but till then it was decided here that the film would be presented in a different way and which character would do what. He wasn’t welcomed back. He wanted to come back, but he wasn’t welcome on sets.”

Mishti also said that she wasn’t happy with the way in which her character had eventually turned out in the film. The actor alleged that Kangana had cut the parts of other actors in Manikarnika only to glorify herself.

Kangana has reacted to allegations of her having cut the roles of other actors in the film by stating that it was her call as a director. People who are saying that their role has been chopped off from the film, their scene and dialogues have been edited from the film, I just want to tell them that whatever place I have earned today in the film industry, I earned it on my own. It wasn’t inherited by my father. What will they get crying like this?” said Kangana.
