The fact that people are blinded by the mere names of stars is enough to prove the sway of B-Town in India. A 27-year-old real estate agent from Kalyan was nabbed by the Mumbai Crime Branch Cyber Cell for posing as Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and luring people by offering film roles or promising admission to their children in Dhirubhai Ambani International School, in exchange for money.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the man named Harshal Sudhakar Bhalerao ran a Facebook account by the name of Salman Khan’s sister Arpita’s husband.

The transgression was uncovered when a Kolkata resident, Rajat Chatterjee, was issued a receipt that looked deceptively similar to the one issued by the aforesaid prestigious school after he paid Rs 1,02,000 for his son Shrijit’s admission in UKG (Upper Kindergarten). They found no match in their records and discovered that the school’s letterhead, logo and signature were forged. Following this revelation, the school filed a complaint at the BKC police station in April.

The case was then handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for a thorough investigation. Chatterjee’s phone records of communication with the accused helped them trace the trickster. The conman has now been booked under section 419 for cheating by impersonation, 420 for cheating, 468 for forgery for cheating, 469 for forgery for the purpose of harming reputation and under the IT Act 66 D for cheating by impersonation by using computer resource.

The police explained that the accused indulged in cheating by impersonation and forgery after facing heavy losses in his business. He also attempted to beguile Chatterjee by offering his wife Soma a role opposite Salman Khan in Dabbang 3.
