1. Arvind Swamy to Play MGR in Kangana’s Jayalalithaa Biopic

South actor Arvind Swamy, best known for his roles in Mani Ratnam’s Roja and Bombay, has been cast as actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran in Thalaivi, the upcoming biopic on the late Jayalalithaa in which Kangana Ranaut has been cast in the lead role. The film is being directed by AL Vijay.

2. ‘No Time to Die’ First Look: Daniel Craig’s Last Bond Appearance

The first poster for the latest Bond film No Time to Die has been released to coincide with James Bond Day – 57 years since the first Bond movie, Dr No, hit theatres. The 25th film in the franchise, it marks Daniel Craig’s fifth and final appearance as the suave Agent 007.

The film follows Bond who has given up active service in favour of retirement in Jamaica. He is forced back into action when Felix Leiter, his old friend from the CIA, asks him for help on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist.

3. Bachchans Celebrate Durga Puja with Rani and Kajol

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan had a mini Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham reunion as they participated in Durga Puja festivities with Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and director Ayan Mukerji. Both Big B and Jaya Bachchan stepped out in white, Kajol was dressed in a yellow and green silk sari and Rani looked gorgeous in a red silk sari with traditional jewellery. Jaya Bachchan, Rani, and Ayan Mukerji were also seen at another pandal in Mumbai with Rani choosing to don a white sari and kundan jewellery.

4. ‘War’ Sets Box Office on Fire, Crosses Rs 100 Crore in Three Days

Yash Raj Films’ War, starring the action duo Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, hit the big screen across India on 2 October. The film broke box office records by crossing Rs 100 crore in three days. It’s the fifth Yash Raj Films to cross this figure after Dhoom 3, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Thugs of Hindostan.

5. Adil Hussain Joins Cast of Season 3 of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’

The first teaser trailer for season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery was premiered at the New York Comic-Con on Saturday, 5 October. Adil Hussain (Life of Pi, The Reluctant Fundamentalist) has joined the cast of the show, adding to the list of Indian faces who have been part of the science-fiction franchise, the most famous of whom remains the late Persis Khambatta.
