1. SRK, KJo, Zoya Kick off Indian Film Festival in Melbourne

On 8 August, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne kicked off joyously in Australia. The festival is currently in its 10th year and as a part of their special decade-long celebration of Indian cinema in Australia, it is being attended by prestigious members of the Bollywood industry. In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, who is the Guest of Honour, the festival is also hosting others like actors Tabu, Arjun Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Gayathrie Shankar and filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Sriram Raghavan, and Rima Das.

2. Mars Is a Distant Dream for Akshay in New ‘Mission Mangal’ Trailer

Ahead of the film’s release on 15 August, the makers of Mission Mangal have dropped a new trailer. While the first was celebratory, this version takes a look at the hurdles the team behind ISRO’s 2013 Mars Orbiter Mission – on which the story is based – had to overcome to achieve their dream of reaching the Red Planet.

3. Pakistan Bans Release of Indian Films Over Revoking of Article 370

Pakistan has banned Indian films from being screened in cinemas across the nation, its government announced on Thursday, 8 August amidst rising tensions between the two countries over Kashmir. Firdous Ashiq Awan, special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Information and Broadcasting has said this action is in retaliation to India's decision to abrogate Article 370 of the constitution, which granted special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to to the media outside Parliament House, Awan claimed the Pakistani government was making various efforts to highlight the current situation in Kashmir internationally.

4. ‘Saaho’ First Look: Jackie Shroff & Chunky Panday Get Villainous

The makers of the upcoming Prabhas action thriller Saaho have released the first look at Jackie Shroff and Chunky Panday’s characters in the film. The two received their own individual character posters.

Jackie shared his Saaho poster, where his character Roy is seen being pensive yet suave. The tagline on the poster says, “Say yes or die.” “SAY YES OR DIE #Roy#saaho releasing on 30th Aug” Jackie wrote on his Instagram post. “He won't leave you with many choices!” claimed the official T-Series account.

5. Here’s Why Salman Khan Has Banned Mobiles From ‘Dabangg 3’ Sets

Bharat star Salman has reportedly banned all mobile phones from the sets of his upcoming film Dabangg 3 to avoid anything from the plot or the looks of the characters to leak. Salman is stepping back into the shoes of Chulbul Pandey after 7 years and wants his audience to have a completely unspoiled experience.

Dabangg 3 has been shooting for a few weeks now. Salman and others have been sharing behind the scenes photos for the fans, but it seems like we won’t be seeing anymore for a while. The main reason for the ban is reportedly Saiee Manjrekar, Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter who is set to make her acting debut with the sequel.
