Kiran Rao's latest film Laapataa Ladies has received a lot of appreciation from both the critics and the audience. The film released in theatres on 1 March. After a strong performance during the weekend at the box office, Laapataa Ladies saw a slight dip on its first Monday.
According to the makers, while the film collected Rs 1.02 crore on Friday, it raised to Rs 1.40 crore on Day 2 (Saturday), Rs 1.70 crore on Day 3 (Sunday), and Rs 0.54 crore on Day 4 (Monday). With this, the total collection of Laapataa Ladies stands at Rs 4.66 crore nett in India and Rs 7.49 crore gross at the global box office.
Laapataa Ladies is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, the film's script is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.
The comedy drama stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Ravi Kishan in lead roles.
