After two entertaining episodes (which totally ignored the Me Too movement in Bollywood) featuring Alia Bhatt with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh with Akshay Kumar, the third episode of Koffee with Karan only got better with Aamir Khan.
Known as a perfectionist, Aamir Khan revealed his trademark wit with some of the most amazing answers during the rapid fire round that might even win him that Audi they keep talking about! Here are the highlights of the latest episode:
Acknowledging the #MeToo Movement
On the show, Karan Johar (finally!) brought up the #MeToo movement, in the context of many women having spoken up against alleged sexual predators in the film, entertainment and media industry.
Aamir Khan, who has shown support for the movement, talked about how it was awful for women to suffer in a patriarchal society.
“I’m glad that there is a clean-up that is happening. I am glad that women are having the strength to come out and speak up about it. And it is sad that women have had to come out and speak about it for it to have created this environment.”Aamir Khan.
The actor had decided to step away from Subhash Kapoor's film Mogul because there was a complaint of sexual misconduct against the filmmaker. While acknowledging this, Karan said:
In many ways you got the ball rolling, and the entire movement of people taking action... up to that point, the movement had of course gained momentum, but no one had taken action.Karan Johar
Aamir Calling?
Karan Johar decided to play a game inspired by his radio show, ‘Calling Karan’, wherein Aamir was to call total strangers and ask them to watch Thugs of Hindostan.
Aamir had to convince the strangers that it was truly him who was calling. But hilariously, one of them ended up referring to him as “a weirdo” who was calling!
‘Bhai Toh Dubengey Nahi’
Then it was time for the much-awaited rapid fire round. And Aamir Khan did not disappoint as he probably gave us the answer of the season. The glamorous Malaika Arora joined the episode, and as she took over the hot seat as Karan Johar joined Aamir on the couch to play the round himself.
Malaika asked Aamir who he would push off a boat if Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were on it, and there space only for one of the Khans. And here is what he said:
The Mumbai Local Question
And then Karan Johar was questioned about the Mumbai local train route. Malaika asked him what what station came after Bandra on the local train, to which his first response was Vile Parle, which we know is far from correct.
To protect Karan from further embarrassment, Malaika asked him to “think going South towards town”. But she obviously couldn’t save him as he said, “Maheeem”. Both Malaika and Aamir shared a laugh at Karan’s expense.
In case you share this confusion with Karan, here is Aamir with the correct answer:
When Aamir Was Super Savage!
When Malaika asked Karan which one of the two – shopping or gossip – Karan could give up, Karan thought for a moment and said he could live without gossip.
But then Aamir interjected, saying that Karan's fashion sense was so bad that there was no point in him shopping at all!
‘Too Much Information’
And finally, Karan decided to play ‘Koffee Shots’ with Aamir Khan just as he did with Priyanka Chopra in the last season. Aamir was surprisingly honest while answering the questions. But as Karan said it himself, there was “too much information”.
