Angrezi Medium, the sequel to Irrfan Khan’s 2017 film Hindi Medium, recently went on floors. Now producer Dinesh Vijan has revealed that Kareena Kapoor will play a police officer in the film.
“She plays a cop – a role she's actually never done before. We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her,” he said in a statement.
“Kareena is a great addition to our franchise. Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I'm excited that she's going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchises to come, and she's perfect for it,” he added.
Angrezi Medium marks Irrfan Khan’s return to acting after a hiatus during which he sought treatment for a neuroendocrine tumour in London. The actor essays the role of a sweet shop owner in the film and Radhika Madan plays his daughter who wishes to pursue higher education in the UK.
Pankaj Tripathi was also recently signed on and will reportedly play a wheeler-dealer who runs a travel agency and helps Irrfan’s character and his on-screen daughter to reach the UK.
Kareena will also be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Good News. The film will is being directed by Raj Mehta and co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.
