It’s been 9 years since Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol hit the theatres and to celebrate this throwback, Karan Johar put out a heartfelt post on Twitter, where he said: “I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story”.
Though Shahrukh and Kajol reunited for this movie after nine whole years, their impalpable chemistry managed to pull the crowds in to the theatres, back in 2010.
The story chronicles the life of Rizvan Khan, played by Shahrukh, a Muslim man in America battling Asperger's syndrome, who found true love with a single mother Mandira - played by Kajol. A crisis situation is reached, when Mandira’s son is killed for having a “Muslim father”, soon after the 9/11 attacks.
Varun Dhawan, who was the Assistant Director in the film, also shared a throwback post, with a picture of the production crew, stating - “#9YearsOfMNIK a film I learnt soo much on. It practically changed my life.”
In response to Varun’s post, Karan Johar replied saying that he had some brilliant memories of this team, including Sidharth Malhotra who had worked on the film as a part of the production unit.
