As Abhishek Varman-directed Kalank hits the screens today, the makers have released a video that reveals the tremendous amount of training its lead actor, Varun Dhawan, went through to achieve the bulky body of his character, Zafar.
Varun’s character in the film is a blacksmith, who works with heavy equipment to build weapons like swords and daggers. So obviously, he needed to look like he was strong enough.
In the video, Varun takes us behind the scenes and gives us a glimpse at how he achieved that raw chiseled body. Talking about his training Varun says,
“I would train twice or thrice a day. I had to achieve a very raw body, extremely strong. He needed to look like he could take down anyone.”Varun Dhawan
Its no wonder that the actor has ditched his shirt in several scenes in the film, including the one where he fights a bull. And while the special effects in that scene aren’t up to the mark, everything about Varun’s abs and biceps is just spot on.
The behind the scenes video gives you a peek at Varun’s body as he does boxes, runs and lifts heavy weights and even his trainer.
