‘Kalank’ Teaser: A Tale of Love in Pre-Independence India

The much-awaited teaser for the upcoming period drama film Kalank is finally out and it looks as amazing as we all expect it to. Described as “a story of turbulent relationships and eternal love” by Karan Johar himself, the film is set in 1940s. The star-studded cast includes Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum, Alia Bhatt as Roop, and Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry, Aditya Roy Kapur as Dev Chaudhry, Varun Dhawan as Zafar, and Sonakshi Sinha.

The teaser video begins with Varun Dawan’s voiceover and provides us a glimpse into the lives of each of the characters. Complete with extravagant sets, beautiful costumes, and breathtaking performances by the actors, the teaser video hints at a tale of eternal love and complicated familial relationships in a conflict-ridden pre-Independence India.

One of the most anticipated films of 2019, the trailer promises some commendable performances by the ensemble cast. The film is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar and Sanjid Nadiadwala. On 11 March, Karan Johar also gave us a glimpse into what we can expect from the teaser by sharing a few stills from the film.
